I have never tried online tuition before. What if I don’t like it?

You have a free trial session to find out if it is for you. If not, you have lost 20 minutes but have hopefully learned something so it is not time wasted. I suspect you will come away wondering why you never tried it before.

What equipment do I need?

A headset or speakers and a microphone and webcam. We will primarily use Zoom to talk to each other. No other downloads or software are required. If you have a graphics tablet it would be useful but is certainly not necessary.

What days are you available?

I now tutor just on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I tutor both during the school day and after school (UK time).

What happens if we lose connection?

This should rarely, if ever, happen but if it does and we can’t reconnect that session we can look at rebooking another slot to make up the rest of the hour. If not, just a pro-rata charge would be appropriate for the shortened session. If that is less than 15 minutes, no charge will be made.

I have material I want us to look at. How do we do that?

If you can provide this in pdf/jpeg form you can email it to me and I will upload it to the whiteboard.

How do I pay you?

If you are in the UK you can pay me using online banking or PAYM and I will let you have my details before we start paid sessions. Payment is due a Half Term in advance. There is more information on my Charges page.

What if I need to cancel?

I would be grateful to have as much notice of cancellation as possible. This helps give the most opportunity to reschedule the session, perhaps by swapping with another student.
