About me

My background was initially in science, reading zoology at university in the mid 70’s. I then trained and qualified as a chartered accountant and tax specialist, setting up my own practice in 1991 which I still run today.

I had cause to dabble with maths over this time and was prompted to study for the A Level in 2006 and then go on to read maths at university, taking a First Class BA. I started tutoring maths while doing this second degree. This was a natural progression as I had spent a lot of time over the previous 30 or so years lecturing, teaching students, and running seminars and presentations. I now mix tutoring with postgraduate study.

I am married to Elaine, a local GP, and spend my free time reading books without equations in them and renewing my old love of photography.
